Low Density Housing, Waterford
Located in a small rural village, this small scale low density housing scheme was designed to appeal to first time buyers trying to get onto the property ladder or retirees looking to down size. (The site density was determined by the site location and the Local Area Development Plan.)
To make the development viable the residential units had to be cost effective to build- hence the storey and a half design. The units have a number of internal layout options with the void area on the first floor convertible to an additional room if required.
Each house has a total gross floor area of 1850 sq. ft. or 172 sq. m. and has been designed so that it can achieve Passive House (PassivHaus) Certification as well as an A1 rating.
The compact nature of the unit design offers any would be buyers an incredible amount of accommodation for the overall floor area, ultimately delivery fantastic value for money.
Through continued dialogue with the developer/ builder we managed to come up with a design that appealed to buyers and gave the developer the maximum return on their investment.
